ABOUT WURTH MINISTRIES
-
How did Wurth Ministries get started?Siblings Caleb Henderson and Dina Lusk started playing instruments and singing in church together almost as young as they can remember. As they got older, God's grace allowed them to compete and win in a national teen talent competition for their church's denomination. After being recognized within the International Pentecostal Holiness Church denomination for their worship, Dina and Caleb began to receive invites to sing at other local churches. On December 31st, 2016, Dina and Caleb were invited to sing at Tree of Life Ministries in Lynchburg, Virginia for a New Years Eve service. As part of their set, Evan Lusk and Carlie Klein were asked to come and accompany them as they lead the church in worship. After that powerful service, all of them felt a strong desire for evangelistic ministry beginning to grow in each of their hearts. Just a few weeks later, they all got together for coffee. In fellowship, they discovered that they all shared the same, unified desire for ministry.

Where did the name 'Wurth' come from?A short time later, a director from a local children's home came to speak at their church. That morning, she attended a sunday school class that Evan and Dina Lusk were teaching and heard them lead worship with the church's praise team. As a result, she invited the evangelistic ministry team (still nameless) to speak and lead worship for a revival at the children's home that she directed. By this time, the ministry team had been trying to come up with a name for months. After praying and seeking God's direction time and time again, the name of the ministry came through the voice of the children at the children's home. One of the songs that was done as part of the worship set was a song called 'Worth' by Anthony Brown. The children loved the words and the meaning so much that they started singing it and proclaimed the message of worth that God was revealing to them. The message they began to declare was that they were worth more than the world had dealt them and that God had a bright future and hope for them. As the children sang the song, the Holy Spirit fell. Through that time of worship, it was clear to the whole team what the name of the ministry should be: Wurth Ministries.

What is the ultimate goal for Wurth as a ministry? The mission statement and gospel message behind this evangelistic ministry team is to remind all of God's people that you are worth more than anything to Him. You are worth more than the world makes you out to be. You are worth more than the lies that the enemy tells you. You are worthy of God's grace, love, and forgiveness simply because Jesus died on the cross and made Himself available to us. Simply because He longs for us and wants us to dwell with Him forever. You are worth everything to God.
